Golfing Trio Hit the Heights in Yorkshire Championships
The Halifax and Huddersfield Union Of Golf Clubs are celebrating a unique treble in the Yorkshire Golfing Championships as 3 of their Junior golfing members combine to make a landmark year in their golfing history .
First of all Oliver Caton of Crosland Heath won the Boys Under 18 title at Selby Golf Club with a first round score of 71 and then followed it with a round of 70 to become Yorkshire Champion and will now represent Yorkshire at the Champions of Champions event in Oxford in September .
The second person to claim success was Woodsome Halls Lily Hirst who clinched The Yorkshire Girls Under 18 Championship after 36 holes at Hessle Golf club when she shot rounds of 70 and then followed it with a 71 to claim the title. Lily also broke the Ladies Course record with her first round and she will now on to represent Yorkshire in the Champion of Champions at Woodhall Spa in September . The first round was also a qualifier for the Justin Rose Telegraph Vitality Competition in Quinta-do-Lago in Portugal in November .
Next to win was Huddersfield Golf Clubs Dylan Shaw - Radford who won the Yorkshire Under 14s title at Wortley Golf Club with rounds of 73 in the first round and then followed it with an improved 71 score to take the title .
The Halifax and Huddersfield Union of Golf Clubs has achieved this remarkable triumph with these three Junior Golfers and so the future looks bright for them in the world of Golf
